Saint Petersburg, last quarter of the 19th century. Surrounded by diamonds. Finger circumference: 53. Gross weight: 13.51 grams, 14K, 583°/00. Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovitch Romanov was appointed Admiral General of the Russian Imperial Army in 1883. The presentation rings have been offered by the Russian imperial family since the 18th century. In the nineteenth century, strict rules were established concerning the types of rings that could be attributed, as well as the symbols depicted. Rings of this type were offered to men of levels XII or XIII of the Table of Ranks. These imperial presentation rings were made by court jewellers, notably by the Fabergé company, and by several jewellers working in collaboration with Fabergé.
