FABRE (Jean-Henri). Autograph letter signed to "Mon cher Emile". Sérignan, November 4, 1879, 4 pp. in-8, mourning paper, small tears in the folds. PRECIOUS AND MOVING LETTER TO HIS SON EMILE FABRE, THEN SIXTEEN YEARS OLD AND RESIDENT IN MARSEILLE. In this letter, Fabre refers to his work on the Spheriaceae, which is soon to appear in the Annals of Natural Sciences, and then announces that the Entomological Memories will be presented to the Academy of Sciences (Volume I had appeared in August 1879). The second volume of Inventors and their Inventions was sent to Delagrave a week ago. Thank Mr. Roux from me for his biographical note on Faraday. I made excellent use of it. That's all I needed.
