TIBET, circa 1900. Two ritual ladles Copper partly silver plated These objects used in Homa ceremonies, honoring the fire god Agni, were used to contain liquid fuel to fuel the sacrificial fire. Ritual elements in three distinct parts, consisting of long barrels with engraved floral decoration decorated in the centre with dragon heads, terminated at one end by vajra, and at the other end by spoons. One with a spherical spoon with engraved floral decoration on the outside, and inside a double dorje in relief. The second with a large rectangular spoon decorated with numerous vajras in relief and motifs evoking flames. L_79 and 89.1 cm
