Sixteen pieces of Pachisi game Ivory painted in polychrome India, 19th century Group of sixteen conical playing pieces in painted ivory (four black, four green, four red and four yellow) with floral decoration. These pieces were used to play Pachisi, a famous Indian game played on a cross-shaped board, adapted by the English in the 19th century and later by the French as the "game of little horses". The British Museum in London holds a group of ivory Pachisi counters (dated between 1850 and 1920) under the inventory number As1927,0510.21.a-p). H_2.5 cm each
