JACOB-DESMALTER. Solid mahogany and mahogany veneer bed with scrolls from the royal castle of Neuilly. Stamped IACOB. Fire mark LPN crowned for Louis-Philippe in the castle of Neuilly, with inventory number: 735. Provenance: castle of Neuilly. H_91 cm W_195 cm D_113 cm. The stamp .IACOB was used by François Honoré Georges Jacob-Desmalter from 1813 to 1825. Built in 1751, the castle of Neuilly is acquired by the duke of Orleans, future Louis-Philippe Ier. He undertook the transformation, embellishment and expansion. The Orleans family particularly liked the castle of Neuilly, where they took their summer quarters. The castle was burned and looted during the revolution of 1848. Confiscated by Napoleon III in 1852 with the property of the House of Orleans, then the park divided into 700 lots. Sold by designation
