NOT COMING SEVERE. Rare plate of... - Lot 551 - Métayer-Mermoz Maison de Ventes aux Enchères Nevers
NOT COMING SEVERE. Rare plate of the particular service of the Emperor Napoleon I, named service of the headquarters, in hard porcelain, with gold decoration in the center of a rosette surrounded by a garland of foliage and on the wing of a frieze of swords joined by ribbons, laurel garland and five-pointed star on a green background of chrome. Mark in red: Manufacture de FOËSCY F b S t Martin n° 45 in Paris. Empire period, 1812. D_23,5 cm two chips under the heel. This one is probably part of the four plates delivered on January 30, 1812 to His Excellency the Grand Marshal of the Palace, (arch. Sèvres, Cité de la céramique, Vy21, f° 3 v), in addition to the Service particulier de l'Empereur. Two plates of the Emperor's particular service kept in the Sèvres museum are one marked: 5 May 14 n° 2 and the other 35-36, accompanied by the mark of the manufacture of Foëscy Fb saint Martin n° 45 in Paris, affixed later. It would thus seem that certain plates were resold to the house Foëscy which had a deposit in Paris and its factory in Cher.
