MORTIER in Antwerp. Dance organ from the 1930's, after 1934. 79 pipes on the right side, 65 pipes on the left side, about 144 pipes in total, bass drum, snare drum, toms, tambourine, percussion, two accordions, three jacquemarts. In playable condition, motorized, a revision will be recommended to the buyer. H_246 cm W_295 cm D_180 cm (total). An important set of perforated cardboards is attached. Théophile MORTIER (1855-1944) began his career as a sales agent for Gavioli & Cie, a Parisian organbuilder, and then set up his own repair shop before beginning to produce his own organs. The MORTIER company did not survive the death of its creator and ceased production in 1948 under its own name. Sale by appointment : to be collected in Hyères (83) at the end of the sale.
