JACOB DESMALTER. Mahogany chair, double pear-shaped front legs, sabre-shaped back legs. Back carved with lattice work. Scrolls and water leaves on the back. Iron mark of the Château de Saint Cloud, numerous inventory numbers in ink and stencil. Provenance: Château de Saint Cloud. Empire period. H_90 cm W_47 cm D_42 cm, backrest to be relined. This model of chair is preserved in the collections of the Mobilier National. Two similar chairs are documented as coming from the Palais des Tuileries (GMT-10433-001) (GMT-11599)
