Circular box in tortoiseshell powder composition, gold interior, the lid adorned with a grisaille and hair miniature on ivory of three women crowning Love titled "Reconnaissance". D_6.2 cm (as seen), surrounded by fine half-pearls. H_2.4 cm D_7.8 cm, for the box, (weeping glass, very minor accidents to the box). Marks: MO: MB + tree; man's head. Circa 1780-1790. Gross weight: 107 grams, 18K, 750°/00. Provenance: coll. Paul Fourché (1840-1922) then by descent. Expert: N.
