Prisoners without deliverance,
Behind the bars... patient,
They watch and wait...
Lifted by death's deceitful hand,
In the deep caverns,
echoes of a creaking melody.
There, in the gilded cage,
They'll stay a long time.
Withdrawn, hopeless,
Frightened by the sliding harp,
Without weariness, they seek and see.
From a pale smile to a toothless contradiction,
Cornered, in full regalia, the supplicant
Has donned a piquant and oppressive finery".
