The brand's history clearly shows its great interest in chronometry, with a number of milestones, particularly in the history of sport, as evidenced by all the innovations made by the brand through its tools in the quest for precision in the Olympic Games. This chronograph is a perfect illustration, featuring the caliber 18 launched in 1906 and found in many of the brand's timepieces, from pocket chronographs to the manufacture's first bracelet chronograph watches. Production ceased after 22 years of use and casing, in 1928. It's important to point out that a chronograph is not a chronometer: a chronograph measures time intervals, while a chronometer measures time precisely and accurately. This watch, which left the Omega workshops on September 9, 1914, is believed to have belonged to a First World War captain, CNE being the military abbreviation for Captain.
