Cloisonné enamel took off in medieval Europe with great popularity in the Byzantine Empire, an art that marvels at its finesse, vivid colors and, above all, its complexity.
In the case of our timepiece, a gold dial is used as a support, and different layers of enamel (a vitrifiable material) are applied and partitioned off with gold partitions. Once the creation is complete, the result is a sublime decoration that adds an artistic touch to the dial. These creations are extremely rare at Omega, as they are anecdotal in the brand's production. This period began around 1946 and ended in 1956, when these watches were given almost unique dials, enhancing their desirability.
