This iteration of the Speedmaster, equipped with the 1045 automatic movement, offers a number of new complications for this model (such as a day-night indicator via a 24-hour scale), all in a case that is atypical for a Speedmaster. It is part of the revival of the Speedmaster, with the arrival of complications and different case shapes from the conventional Speedmaster.
