OMEGA Constellation ElectroQuartz - Reference 196.0014. Steel quartz wristwatch. Barrel case, fluted bezel, fluted crown, screw-down caseback engraved in medallion format with the Constellation logo. Gray dial, applied gray baton hour markers, black painted baton minute track, black baton hands, black painted central baton seconds hand, date window at 6 o'clock, applied logo. Movement: quartz. Caliber 1301 "Beta21" - Numbered 34239816 (circa 1972). Case, dial and movement signed. Case dimensions: 38 x 40 mm. Integrated Omega steel bracelet with Omega folding clasp - Reference 1210/202. In 1962, to develop a quartz movement, the Centre Electronique Horloger brought together twenty-one brands, including Omega and Piaget, to create a high-precision quartz caliber for their timepieces. The result in 1970 was the Beta21: a high-frequency quartz caliber with extreme precision. This caliber was the basis for Omega's Electroquartz range. Electroquartz models are distinguished by the red Omega logo. The Beta21 calibers were produced in limited quantities, 14,000 units were made by Omega, and the 1301 was produced in 4,000 pieces.
