Ethiopian religious manuscript illustrated with Christian scenes. Red and black ink and polychrome pigments on vellum, bound in wood and rope. Ethiopia, late 17th - early 18th century. H_9.5 cm W_9 cm D_4.5 cm. Small Christian manuscript featuring a text written in Guèze, in black and red ink, spread over 2 columns of eleven lines per page. It opens with sixteen polychrome miniatures depicting Christ on the Cross, the Virgin Mary and portraits of saints.
