ITALY, PISA (?) - Lot 35
ITALY, PISA (?) Small dish decorated in blue on a blue background, with a Dominican monk and the pharmaceutical inscription "OL-D-CAPPARI" in a phylactery. The handle is formed by two snakes joined by a satyr's mask, the date 1578 in a cartouche below the handle. 16th century, dated 1578. H_ 23 cm. D_ 15 cm, missing material visible under the piece, cracked neck. The counterpart to this chevrette, bearing the same date, is in the Musée du Louvre. N° inv. OA 11760, from the former Raymonde Hervouet collection, and attributed to the Pisa factory.
