H_19 cm W_25.5 cm. Marie Clémence Dumont de Sainte Croix, wife of ornithologist René Lesson, illustrated her husband's book Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux-Mouches. She also worked for botanist Charles Paulus Bélanger, explorer Louis Isidore Duperrey and ornithologist Louis-Pierre Vieillot. She is erroneously identified in the sale of the Marcel Jeanson collection as "Madeleine".
