Georg Johann VOLMAR (1770-1831). The Rotto Bridge and Castel Sant'Angelo, Rome. Oil on canvas, signed on an architectural panel on the right. H_52.5 cm L_63.5 cm, on view. Georg Volmar was born in Mengen, Germany, in 1770, and spent most of his painting life in Switzerland. He traveled to Rome in 1807, the year in which he probably painted our picture.
