HENRIOT, QUIMPER. Polychrome earthenware plate marked "Je me nomme Anasthasie, c'est un chouette nom, je suis celle qui raccourcit, ce qui en dit trop long." On reverse, Cercle du soldat du VIème arrondissement 1917, by COSTER, HR Quimper. D_24 cm. 33 were ordered from the Henriot factory in 1917. Models were created by students at the Paris Schools of Decorative Art, then made into plates by the Henriot factory in 1917. French President Raymond Poincaré inaugurated this charity sale in June 1917, in the Salle des Fêtes of the VIth arrondissement town hall. All the plates are marked "Cercle du Soldat du VIe arrondissement" and bear the name of the Parisian designer of the decorative model.
