BARTSCH (Johann Adam Bernhard von). Collection of 16 engravings. An in-4 half-calf volume of 16 engraved plates by Adam von Bartsch (1757-1821), an Austrian artist and writer, also a printer, aquafortist and engraver, best known for his work on engraving entitled Le Peintre graveur, written in Vienna between 1802 and 1821, and published in France in 14 volumes, in which he describes Dutch, Flemish and German engravers up to 1820, as well as Italian engravers from the 15th to 17th centuries, from which the 16 plates in this collection are taken. The plates depict scenes of peasant life, or animals (oxen, sheep, dogs...) from drawings by Nicolaes Ficke (1620-1682), Johannes Arnoldus Boland (1838-1922), Johann Melchior Roos (1663-1731), Nicolaes Berchem (1620-1683), Paulus Potter (1625-1654)...
