In-4 in full contemporary calf, spine ribbed, gilt decoration in the boxes, title page, XV, (1), 181 pages, (1) and 11 folded plates. Second edition of the famous manual of differential calculus, whose first edition was printed in 1696 by the Imprimerie Royale in Paris. Renowned for its clarity and precision, L'Hospital's mathematical treatise was a major success in the 18th century. Handwritten ex-libris in pen on the title page. Binding rubbed, worm holes in the first few leaves, but no damage to the text.
