In-4 bound with 28 pages, (8), 100 pages, (8) 315pp. Rare first edition of this first collection of poems by carpenter poet Adam Billaut (1602-1662). Copy complete with frontispiece, depicting the author with a plane and carpentry tools. The work includes an ode to Cardinal de Richelieu, a preface by Michel de Marolles and an Approbation du Parnasse, composed of several tribute poems addressed to the author by his contemporaries. Binding rubbed, corners dulled.
