COQUILLE (Guy). Histoire du pays et Duché de Nivernois published in Paris by Abel Langelier in 1612. One volume in-4 in full contemporary vellum with (10), 389 pages and (40) tables. Posthumous first edition of this essential work on the history of the Nivernais region by Guy Coquille, Seigneur de Romenay (1523-1603), a famous jurisconsult from the Nivernais region, Attorney General of the Duchy of Nevers from 1571, and the region's first historian. Bookplate in pen and ink on title page. Marginal annotations in pen (contemporary with the publication of the volume) and pencil (later).
