Statuts of the société anonyme pour l'exploitation des mines de houille de Decize located in the arrondissement of Nevers (Nièvre) King's decree, Metz, printed by Collingon, undated (circa 1842).
In 1816, a Société anonyme des mines de houille de Decize was created. It carried out major works in what became an industrialized coal mine. The Loire at Decize became the main hub for transporting coal
to French arsenals. By 1842, production had risen to 40,000 tons and the coal mine was ranked 11th among French coal mines.
