MIEUSEMENT (Médéric) & ROBERT (Paul).
Collection of 60 photographs on albumen paper, mounted on cardboard, depicting religious and historical buildings in the Nièvre region. Dry stamp and credit printed on the cardboard, sometimes accompanied by a handwritten caption in pen. The photographs are dated (1891) and captioned in the negative.
As early as 1882, Médéric Mieusement made a trip to the Nièvre region, and in particular to Nevers, on behalf of the National Commission for Historic Monuments and the Department of Religious Affairs, accompanied by his son-in-law and successor, Paul Robert, a native of the town. Most of the photos in this collection date from 1891.
Collection includes : Portal of Saint André church in Decize; Porte du Croux in Nevers; columns, capitals and doors of Saint Pierre le Moutier church; nave of Saint Etienne church in Nevers, Sémelay church; nave of Clamecy church; Tannay church; churches in Prémery, Donzy, Mars sur Allier, Rouy, Saint Révérien, Varzy, la Charité sur Loire, Garchizy... In a few rare photographs, figures are visible: in the church and former chateau of Premery, in Saint Saulge (Nolin business), in the church of Corbigny (several people, including a woman and a baby, as well as a dog), in the cloister of Decize,
Slight lack on card no. 149, Mars sur Allier, without affecting the photo. Minor wetness. The photos are in a drawing folder, fragile condition.
