ROBERT (Paul). La Nièvre Pittoresque, Arrondissement de Clamecy. Set of 156 photographs, on albumen paper, mounted on cardboard. On the back, in red print "La Nièvre pittoresque. Arrondissement de Clamecy. Paul Robert. Fecit et Ed". The photographs are numbered and captioned in the negative. Paul Robert (1866-1898), a photographer born in Nevers, married Laure Mieusement in 1890, daughter of Médéric Mieusement, a photographer working for the French Historic Monuments Administration. By dowry, he obtained the concession to photograph historic monuments and manage the Mieusement collection. Undated set (between 1890 and 1898) containing scenes of fishing in the Nivernais canal; scenes of haymaking, plowing, mowing; nature scenes in Brassy, Mance, Chivres, Champallement, Saisy, Cheuroches, Varzy, Roches de Basseville, Lormes; village scenes in Saint Révérien; historical and religious monuments in Bailly, Surgy, Clamecy, Grenois, Brassy, Entrains, Corbigny, Authiou, Lormes, Villemolin, Cusy, Amazy, Chanteloup, Ainay, Saugny, Lantilly, Meuré, Tannay, Guipy... A fine ensemble.
