ORIS. Miscellaneous "Big Crown", ref. 635-7514, no. 20.49432. Circa 2015. Steel wristwatch with date. Round case, graduated rotating bezel, screw-down caseback, signed. Black dial, luminescent hour markers and hands, 2 counters for 12 o'clock and seconds, date window, signed. Automatic movement. Rubber strap signed. Folding clasp signed. Diam. 42 mm. Provenance: Amateur collection. Founded in 1904 in Hölstein, Switzerland, Oris is one of the few remaining independent "Swiss made" brands. By the end of the 1960s, Oris was one of the world's top 10 watch companies. In 1982, learning the lessons of the "quartz crisis", the brand refocused on traditional watchmaking, producing exclusively mechanical movements. From 1990 onwards, Oris asserts its new positioning: "designing high-performance Swiss Made mechanical watches at affordable prices". Today, from Paris to Tokyo, Bangkok to Seattle, the brand counts some fifty collectors' groups around the world, known as Oris Social Clubs. CONDITION REPORT (indicative) : Movement operational at time of catalog writing. Good general condition. Visible wear scratches on buckle, bezel and case back. Strap with some signs of use.
