PATEK PHILIPPE. - Lot 94
PATEK PHILIPPE. Aquanaut "Première Génération", ref. 5060A, no. 3024066 / 4034115. Circa 1998. Steel wristwatch. Cushion case, signed. Black dial, Arabic numerals, stylized minute track, central second hand, date window, signed. Automatic movement cal. 330SC, hallmark of Geneva, signed. Tropical" rubber strap. Diam. 36 mm. With an extract from the registers confirming the production of this watch in 1998 and its sale on February 27, 1998, and a service pouch. Provenance: Amateur collection. Launched in 1997, the Aquanaut marks the official appearance of a sports watch in the brand's collections. The first model was marketed under the reference 5060A and is equipped with the caliber 330SC, which offers a 48-hour power reserve. With this watch, Patek Philippe for the first time offers its customers an alternative to the traditional leather or steel straps, and introduces the "Tropical" rubber strap, an essential material of the 1990s. In terms of design, while the case of the 5060A is reminiscent of the Nautilus, its matte black "pomegranate" dial contrasts with the gridded dial of the icon designed by Gerald Genta. CONDITION REPORT : This watch underwent a full service at the Patek Philippe workshops in January 2025, and has since been kept under service seal. Photo no. 1 is an illustrative photo, as the watch is kept under service seal. Please note that all watches are sold as is. No guarantee of function. Watches have been opened to identify movement type and quality, including water-resistant watches, so the buyer is advised to consult a watchmaker to review the water-resistance of the watch.
