THOMMEN REVIEW. Airspeed, ref. 6110005. Circa 2010. Steel wristwatch with calendar. Round case, screw-down back, signed. Black dial, Arabic numerals and luminescent hands, central date hand, central second hand, signed. Automatic movement. Buckle signed. Diam. 38 mm. Provenance: Amateur collection. Founded in 1853, Revue Thommen was a Swiss manufacturer specializing in clocks and flight instruments for the aviation industry. The company experienced difficulties in the 1930s, but made a strong comeback in the 1940s thanks to its capacity for innovation and the reliability of its movements. Faced with the quartz crisis in the 1970s, the company gradually ceased its activities. In the 2000s, the brand was relaunched with a line of sports watches, including this Airspeed model.
