LOUIS MAJORELLE (1859-1926).
"Clématites épanouies et en bourgeons".
Pair of bergères in ribbed, molded and carved walnut; the backs are inverted.
Each armrest front, extending into a slightly curved foot, is carved with a clematis in full bloom at the top, finished in an angle.
A similarly carved motif of budding clematis forms the capital of each of the front legs.
The belts and rear legs are recessed-molded.
The armrests are each highlighted by a molding that continues into the upright and backrest frame.

Art Nouveau period.
Seats, armrests and backrests (re)upholstered in beige velvet, one of which features a small embroidered American banknote.
H.95 cm - W.80 cm - D. 70 cm
Used condition, non-original upholstery and trimmings, a small loss on the back molding of one of the backrests.
