ART NOUVEAU WORK ATTRIBUTED TO VINCENT ÉPEAUX (1862-1945)- FROM AN IMPORTANT DECORATION OF A HOUSE IN CHER MADE AROUND 1900-1910 "Le Houx 5-piece lounge in ribbed, molded and carved mahogany, comprising a sofa, a pair of armchairs and a pair of chairs. The back spandrels and foot capitals feature carved title motifs. The seats, backrests and sides originally upholstered in fabric with embroidered and quilted Art Nouveau motifs. Sofa: H. 102 cm - W. 148 cm - D. 73 cm Armchair: H. 100 cm - W. 69 cm - D. 50 cm Chairs: H. 93 cm - W. 60 cm - D. 43 cm Used condition, scattered accidents, upholstery in very poor condition. Provenance: From a very important decoration made around 1900-1910 for the Rétif family estate (horse-drawn carriage factory) in the Cher region, which saw the participation of many artists from the owners' circle of friends.
