HENRI RAPIN (1873-1939) OR SCHOOL OF - AN IMPORTANT DECORATION FOR A HOUSE IN THE CHER REGION, CIRCA 1900-1910 Very interesting oak architect's pedestal. The four asymmetrical jambs form the openwork shaft, with broken lines accommodating a crotch shelf; the mounts are concealed by hammered copper covers. The square top is supported by buttresses. H. 133 cm - L. 34 cm - W. 34 cm Used condition, missing hammered copper covers. Provenance: From a very important decoration made around 1900-1910 for the Rétif family estate (horse-drawn carriage factory) in the Cher region, which attracted many artists from the owners' circle of friends.
