HENRI RAPIN (1873-1939) OR SCHOOL OF - FROM AN IMPORTANT DECORATION OF A HOUSE IN CHER MADE AROUND 1900-1910 Round oak side table - architect's furniture. The four curvilinear, broken-line legs; the upper parts forming arches and an asymmetrical belt; the mounts concealed by hammered copper covers. The circular top receives a central pavement of nine glazed stoneware tiles. H. 73 cm - D. 80 cm Used condition, one stoneware tile damaged. Provenance: From a very important decoration made around 1900-1910 for the Rétif family estate (horse-drawn carriage factory) in the Cher region, which attracted many artists from the owners' circle of friends. Two medallion paintings signed Henri Rapin and painted directly on the living room doors are still in place in the house. Expert : Emmanuel Eyraud
