Lizinka Aimée Zoé DE MIRBEL (1796-1849). Portrait of a man. Charcoal drawing, shading and white highlights. Inscribed "dessiné d'après nature par madame lizinska , élève de Mr M.AUGUSTIN" and dated 1812. H_46.5 cm L_39 cm, at sight Carved and gilded wood frame. Lizinska de Mirbel (Lizinska Aimée Zoé Rüe in her civil status), born in Cherbourg on July 26, 1796 (8 thermidor year IV) [1] and died in Paris on August 30, 1849 [1], was an artistic personality from La Manche, a miniature painter by profession. At the age of eighteen, she took classes with the most famous Parisian miniaturist, Jean-Baptiste Augustin (1759-1832).
