Pair of queen-size armchairs in richly carved and gilded wood. The belt decorated with a piaster frieze, the back decorated with a flower basket. Polychrome silk upholstery (later). Stamped H. JACOB for Henri Jacob, received master on September 29, 1779. Louis XVI period. H_102 cm W_62 cm D_70 cm. Henri Jacob is Georges Jacob's first cousin and fourteen years his junior. Originally from the Yonne region, he came to Paris to apprentice with Georges Jacob, who was established as a master carpenter.
