JEAN ROYÈRE (1902-1981) - FORMER COLLECTION OF OLIVIER QUÉANT (1898-1988), DIRECTOR OF THE MAGAZINE PLAISIR DE FRANCE AND CLOSE FRIEND OF THE ARTIST.
"Croisillons; version métal" the model originally created around [1947] by the artist for his personal use, our work made around 1949 (plan 3.257 marked Lit Quéant and dated 1949) for Olivier Quéant.
Daybed forming a sofa.
Proof in gilded iron (gilding on red plate); the title motifs in tubular metal, assembled in the manner of a braid, appear on the head, foot and long sides.
The four uprights are each topped by a sphere.
Equipped with a box spring, mattress and non-original cushions.
Overall dimensions: Height: 85 cm - Length: 209 cm - Width: 88 cm
Alterations and wear to the gilding, notably to the spheres and top bars of the headboard and footboard; box spring, mattress and cushions replaced.
