Carved and gilded wood console decorated with fluting and flowers in medallions.
The uprights are formed by two large consoles terminating in lions' paws.
Stamped I.B. SENE for Jean-Baptiste SENE, carpenter, received master in 1769.
18th century.
Breche marble top.

Consoles by Jean-Baptiste SENE are extremely rare, as his art was almost exclusively applied to seating.
A console, sold in London on December 14, 2005, from the Wildenstein collection, whose uprights and belt are very similar to ours, but unsigned, was attributed to him.
