Ateliers J. BENOIT in Nancy. "Saint Jean Baptiste". Stained glass window in polychrome, grisaille, silver yellow, enamels... The Saint is shown standing, dressed in the mantle of the ancient philosophers, leaning on a cruciform staff (reed wood, a reference to the reed metaphor used by Jesus in speaking of John the Baptist). With his right hand, he appears to be blessing us. He stands out against a rich background of flowers and acanthus leaves. In the upper part, surrounded by the crown of thorns, the Holy Face is depicted. 20th century France. Stained glass window signed and dated J. Benoit 1928 Nancy. H. 193.5 cm L. 62.5 cm.
