Second edition (first published in 1727), with frontispiece designed by Kent and engraved by Baron.
The work presents the work of English architect Inigo Jones (c. 1573-1652), considered the first of the great English classical architects. The author of this reference work on Jones was William Kent (c. 1685-1748), also a British architect, landscape artist, painter and engraver.
The plates are noted by the page (sometimes several numbers on the same page). Volume 1 contains 52 plates graded up to 73; volume 2 contains 47 plates graded up to 65 v2. A total of 99 tabbed plates, with 138 numbers.
