ARCHITECTURE/STEREOTOMY] DE LA RUE (Jean Baptiste)] Traité de la coupe des pierres ou méthode facile et abrégée pour se perfectionner en cette science, Paris, Jombert, 1764 One folio volume in full calf, ribbed spine, gilded decorations of: frontispiece, title, (2) then from IV to XIV, (2), 183 pages, 73 plates out of text, some with system, printed for the most part on both sides and numbered from I to LXVII, of which 24 with 1 fold-out suite + 6 plates numbered A to F for the Petit traité de stéréotomie. The work is divided into five parts: doors and backsplashes, master vaults, trompes, descents and abajour [sic] and staircases, followed by a Petit traité de stéréotomie, applied to the use of stone cutting. Richly illustrated with an allegorical frontispiece engraved by Thomassin after Bertin, dated 1738, and a title vignette engraved by Aveline after Cochin fils, as well as a large number of plates, some with systems. Some dampstaining. Corners dull.
