ARCHITECTURE/CARPENTRY] DUMONT (Gabriel Pierre Martin)] Parallèle de grands entablements et de charpentes à l'italienne, Paris, Loyer, no date (circa 1765) An Italian-style volume in full speckled calf, decorated smooth spine, with 20 engraved plates. The plates are after drawings by the author, Gabriel Pierre Martin Dumont, Parisian architect (1720-1791); and engraved by Loyer and Gaitte. Following the title page, the collection includes two plates of carpentry drawings, an engraving of the entablature executed at the Royal Academy of France in Rome, a project for a Doric entablature, the Yonic entablature executed at the building for foundlings near Notre Dame de Paris, and the entablature of the sacristy of Notre Dame de Paris (based on drawings by Mr. Joufflos), plan of the new church of Sainte Geneviève, elevation of the church of Sainte Geneviève, plan of the new Comédie Française, its façade, an engraving of the Comédie in section, the façade of the Palais de Justice, a plate of 8 vignettes of façades, a second plate of 8 vignettes of doors and façades (including the Invalides and the Opera), and five plans and elevations of porte cochère. The plates have been numbered in pen and ink; there is no plate 14 in this numbering. Fragile binding, accidents to spine and top cover with slight tears, corners dulled.
