Paris, Guillaume Desprez, 1773 Large in-4 full red morocco, ribbed spine richly decorated with gilded decoration, 1247 pages. Bound in the Cosnac family coat of arms (Argent semé de molettes de sable, with a lion of the same arm, lampassé et couronné de gueules). Accompanied by two handwritten letters, one on the letterhead of Jean Joseph Marie Victoire de Cosnac (1764 - 1843), archbishop of Sens, written in Latin, and an engraved portrait of the latter. The second letter, dated 1969, is signed Henry de Cosnac (1891 - 1973) and addressed to Noëlle Marestaing. Library stamp on title page. Pleasant copy, wide margins, fresh inside (one page torn in margin, not missing). Binding rubbed.
