LITERATURE] VIRGILE] P. VIrgilii Maronis Opera nunc Emendatiora Lugd Batavor, [Leiden], Ex officina Elzeveriana, 1636. An in-12 volume in full calf, gilt fillets on the boards, spine ribbed, gilt decoration and title with: frontispiece, (38), 411 pages, (43), 1 folding map. Second edition of Virgil's works by Heinsius; same year as the first (lacks the two pages printed in red as the original). Copy complete with folding map of Aeneas' navigation. Corners dulled, headbands worn, spine split. Ink-stained edges with offsetting in the leaves, without major damage to the text. Various writings in pen around and opposite the frontispiece title.
