Two volumes in one, in half calf with corners, smooth spine richly decorated with: frontispiece, title, (1), (16) preface and tables, engraving hors texte, 315 pages, (1), frontispiece, title, 342 pages, (10) privilege and catalog.
Brunet, I, 1058, "The Amsterdam edition, Schelte, 1702, is an attractive reprint of 1701, in which are added the passages of the Latin poets imitated by the author, the Chapelain décoissé and the two satires falsely attributed to Despreaux".
Ex-libris in pen (J.S Silberrai ?). Binding rubbed. Corners dulled. Fine engravings.
Attached, an in-8 volume of 331 pages in full calf: volume 2 alone of the works of M Boileau Despréaux published in Paris by the widow Durand and the widow Savoye in 1768.
