Ferdinand GAIDAN (active from 1868 to 1894). Large earthenware dish in imitation of Urbino majolica. Signed on the heel. D_37.2 cm Ferdinand GAIDAN was a ceramist active in the second half of the 19th century, in Paris, rue de l'abbé Groult, but also collaborating with the Huart brothers' factory in Longwy. As indicated in his 1876 brochure, he specialized in high-tech reproductions of Moustiers, Marseille, Urbino, Satsuma, Persia, cloisonné and inlay work. Bibliography: F.
