Jacques MONORY (1924-2018). Les premiers numéros du catalog mondial des images incurables n°14 - 1974. Oil on canvas, signed on the back, dated and titled. H_114 cm L_162 cm In a blackened wooden American box frame. A letter signed by the artist, dated September 11, 2003, will be given to the buyer. In it, he explains his artistic choices and the denunciation of the American system induced by this work. Provenance: Cornette de Saint-Cyr sale, Paris, April 28, 2003. Note: Jacques Monory is one of the leading exponents of Figuration Narrative, which developed in France in the 1960s. His work blurs the boundaries between fiction and contemporary history, marked by the violence of everyday reality. This is reflected in a cold, smooth aesthetic inspired by photography and cinema, often against a monochrome blue background.
