A handsome walnut-topped games table in speckled mahogany ve - Lot 420
A handsome walnut-topped games table in speckled mahogany veneer with ormolu ornamentation, decorated with bas-relief figures of bears holding baskets of flowers.
It stands on four tapered fluted legs trimmed with bronze twisted gadroon friezes.
Signed with a G. DURAND, for Gervais-Maximilien DURAND (1839-1911).
Late 19th century work in the Louis XVI style.
The dark green felt top.
Note: Gervais-Maximilien-Eugène Durand practiced 12 rue de la Cerisaie in 1870, then 23 rue Beautreillis from 1878 and 62 rue Saint Antoine around 1900. He trained with Dasson and Beurdeley.
