One volume in full calfskin, smooth spine, richly gilded decoration on the frontispiece, title page, (2), then from IV to LXX, (2), 262 pages, (2)
First edition. With the error in Rousseau’s first name (“Jaques”) on the title page and the acute accent added by the publisher on page 11 (as noted). Frontispiece engraved by Dominique Sornique after Charles Eisen, featuring a title vignette engraved by Simon Fokke and the coat of arms of the city of Geneva, engraved by Fokke after Soubeyran, at the head of the epistle. Complete with the errata (excluding the three cards mentioned in the note to the bookbinder).
Corners worn, binding fragile, head and foot of the spine worn down, interior in fairly fresh condition.
