William JAMES (English painter, active between 1754 and 1771). View of the Labia Palace and the Canareggio Canal, Venice. Oil on canvas. H_102.5 cm W_150 cm Re-stretched and retouched in the sky. In a large wooden frame with gilded stucco and a waterleaf motif. Enclosed is a copy of a letter from Mr. Dario Succi, dated 1999, in which he states—based on an Ektachrome slide—that he considered this view of Canareggio to be a work by William James.
