François Gabriel G. LÉPAULLE (1804–1886). Portrait of Armand Jacques Leroy de Saint-Arnaud, Marshal of France, on horseback. Oil on canvas, signed lower left and dated 1853. H_76.5 cm W_60 cm. An inscription on the reverse reading “Mme de Saint Arnaud” confirms the identity of the subject, of whom several portraits are known, notably the one by Charles Philippe Larivière, a contemporary of the artist.
